Schwarzburg Palace dominates the landscape of the central Schwarza valley. Of the once extensive and multifaceted complex that rises on a ridge high above Schwarzburg, only individual buildings remain, of which the Armoury, the Emperor's Hall and the main building of the castle attract the most attention because of their architectural-historical significance. They are a symbol of the eventful history of the former ancestral seat of the Counts of Schwarzburg, which stretches from the Middle Ages to the recent past.
